Police Arrest 67 G*y Suspects in Delta Hotel

Authorities in Delta have reported the arrest of 67 individuals involved in a same-s*x wedding ceremony at a hotel.

This action aligns with the enforcement of the 2014 anti-g*y law signed by former President Goodluck Jonathan, which prescribes a 14-year imprisonment for individuals found guilty of engaging in same-s*x relations.

The Delta State Police Command publicly showcased the apprehended suspects through a Facebook broadcast.

The Command’s spokesman Bright Edafe addressed the media during the parade.

Sharing photos of the suspects on X, Edafe wrote, “Delta State Police Command has arrested 67 g*y suspects at a hotel on 28/8/2023. They were at a suspected g*y wedding ceremony between Daniel Pius ‘m’ (groom) and Maxwell Ohwonowho (bride) at Teebulus Hotel along Refinery Road, Ekpan. I paraded them today at Ekpan Police Station.”

In December 2020, the Lagos State Police Command arrested 10 individuals suspected of homosexual activities in a brothel located in the Okota area of the state.

Earlier in 2018, the police in the state paraded 57 men for alleged homosexual activities at Kelly Ann hotel in Egbeda.

In January 2022, eight alleged homosexuals were arrested in a hotel in Isolo, Lagos for alleged g*y activities.
