New NIMC DG Meets Lagos Gov Chief Press Secretary In Abuja

On Thursday, Gboyega Akosile, the chief press secretary (CPS) to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had a meeting with Bisoye Coker-Odusote, the acting director-general and chief executive officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

They shared a moment captured in photos, which Mr. Akosile posted on Instagram. In his post, he encouraged her to excel in her new role and bring pride to Lagos.

β€œJust ran into my dear sister, Bisoye Coker-Odusote, the newly appointed Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport. Congratulations again my sister. Go and deliver to make us proud,” he wrote.

Akosile thanked President Bola Tinubu β€œfor recognizing and trusting talented young Nigerians with positions of power.”

Until her appointment at NIMC, Coker-Odusote was general manager and CEO of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA).

The previous NIMC boss Aliyu Aziz was directed to commence a 90-day pre-retirement leave.

According to a statement from the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the leave, starting on August 24, 2023, will result in his service retirement on November 24, 2023.
