In Osun, a DSS officer is accused of stabbing a caretaker with a dagger over an electricity bill.

In Osun State, an argument over the payment of an electricity bill allegedly led DSS officer Tifase to stab his caretaker, Omosola Oladele

On Tuesday night, August 22, 2023, the incident took place in the Tinumola neighborhood of Osogbo, the state capital. Neighbors complained to the caretaker about the DSS officer’s casual attitude toward the house’s bills.

The DSS officer stabbed the caretaker with a dagger after asking him about paying an electricity bill, according to the eyewitnesses who spoke with igberetv.

Oladele, the 60-year-old caregiver, described the incident from his hospital bed.

“One of the tenants of the multi-story building informed me that NEPA officials had shown up to cut the lights even though they had paid for the current electricity. She claimed that only Tifase and one other person had not made a payment, he continued.

If people hadn’t stepped in to help, NEPA would have disconnected the light, but he yelled angrily at me, “They should cut it.”. He was instructed to apologize for the statement by one of the witnesses, but instead he went inside and returned with a dagger and stabbed me.

One of the witnesses, Comrade Morounkola Tosin, described the incident and claimed that the problem began on August 16 when the homeowners had to pay their electricity bills.

Despite the fact that some people volunteered to pay the electricity bills, what they really wanted was a refund before he pulled a dagger out and stabbed Mr. Oladele.

“We hurried Mr. Oladele to the hospital, and I went to Dada Estate Police Station to report the incident. Before I returned from the police station, I ran into some DSS operatives who said they couldn’t turn him over to the police because he is one of their own. “.
