Be agents of change – Gov Mohammed urges NYSC members in Bauchi

Bauchi State governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) not only in the state but across the country to be agents of change and innovation, even as he admonished them to seek ways of supporting the less privileged in society.

Governor Mohammed gave the advice while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch B Stream 1 orientation course for corps members deployed in the state at the NYSC permanent orientation camp at Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

Mohammed, who was represented by his deputy Auwal Jatau, pointed out that Nigeria is currently dealing with a number of difficulties but claimed they could be overcome.

According to the governor: “As you serve, keep in mind that the challenges facing our nation are considerable, but they are not insurmountable.

“I implore you to be agents of change and innovation. Seek ways to address social and economic issues, promote education, and support the less privileged.

“Be proactive in addressing environmental challenges and contribute to the overall development of your host communities.”

While assuring the corps members of their welfare and well-being during their service year in the state, Governor Mohammed said the state government had put measures in place to ensure that they were protected throughout their stay
