Despite the rainy season,Senator representing Abia North at the 10th Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has embarked on the construction of the Amaoba community road, located in Arochukwu local Government Area.
The 1 Kilometer road project which is currently being constructed with double drainage is in fulfillment of the promise the two time former Abia Governor made to the community during the 2023 campaigns.
According to eye witness reports, the contractor has long been mobilised to site and have also embarked on daily construction in order to ensure the timely delivery of the project.
While reacting to the development, the media office of the immediate past Senate Chief Whip said that the road, when completed, will be a major enabler of commerce, Business and Trade between the two States.
Prominent community Leader, Mazi Friday Nwanmo said that the Amoba community in Arochukwu ancient kingdom, are so happy with what senator Orji uzor Kalu is doing in their community.
Nwanmo thanked Kalu for fulfilling his campaign promises;
“We have never seen it like this before. Others will make promises during the Election and once they get the position they will not come back till after four years again, we pray that the Lord will continue to bless His Excellency senator Dr Orji uzor Kalu for remembering us.
Kalu upon resumption at the 10th Senate commenced the construction of new projects across the five local governments of Abia-North.
The former Abia State governor has since commenced works on the projects he pledged to construct in Bende, Ohafia, Isuikwuato, Umunneochi and Arochukwu LGAS as captured in the 2022/2023 budget.
Some of them include; Construction of Faith Junction to Paradise Junction, Faith Junction to Akamba Market road in Akanu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area; flag off construction of new block of three classrooms at Umuakpa Primary School, Item Bende LGA; Completion and furnishing of Community Primary School, Amaekpu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area; Construction of six kilometer Road project at “Ndiwo Okopedi” – “Akwa-Ibom junction” Itumbauzo, Bende Local Government Area; construction of New of two to three Blocks of classrooms each at:Amuvi Primary school, Command Day Primary School, Amaekpu Ohafia Community school and Agboji Abiriba Primary school all located at Arochukwu,Ohafia and Bende LGAs respectively amongst other projects at Umunneochi and Isuikwuato LGAs.
