The Special committee is tasked with creating selection and nomination modalities in line with the law governing the requirements and qualifications expected of appointees in the affected Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
A presidency source said that Tinubu has demanded that the committee be thorough in its work, particularly in understanding the agencies whose establishment Acts mandate federal character representation or specified educational and technical expertise.
The committee will also be responsible for ensuring that the new boards are reflective of the diversity of the Nigerian people.
In addition to the Chief of Staff, the committee will include the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, the Special Adviser to the President on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mallam Yau Darazo, and some legal and private sector experts.
