In a surprising turn of events, Linda Yaccarino, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, has strongly denied any claims of a decline in Twitter’s traffic following the launch of Instagram Threads on July 5th. Nevertheless, the company does have concerns about the potential threat posed by Meta’s rival, which has already gathered an impressive user base of over 100 million.
Worries started to emerge on Monday as Twitter users started reporting instances of specific links to Threads.net being blocked in their searches. This selective blocking has created a notable challenge for users who want to access discussions or find user profiles on Threads.

A user named Andy Bai, who specializes in technology, noticed this change on Twitter when he tried to conduct a search using the “url:threads.net” operator, only to be met with empty results. Normally, this search operator would display tweets that include links to the specified website, and indeed, there are plenty of tweets currently circulating with threads.net links.
As we continue to witness the unfolding of this story, it is still uncertain how Twitter will handle the concerns and adjust to the constantly shifting world of social media competition.
