As Nigerians await the first production of the newly commissioned Dangote Refinery this July to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerians occasioned by the abrupt removal of petrol subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, there are doubts in some quarters that this expectation will not be met.
In it’s twilight, the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the refinery, a development described by local and international observers as a deal breaker.
Reports say the Dangote Refinery, located in Lekki Free zone, Lagos, is capable of producing 650,000 barrels per day. It’s also adjudged the biggest oil refinery in Africa and the biggest single-train facility in the world.
A video sighted by IgbereTV which purportedly emanated from Dangote Refinery, shows some construction workers at the refinery, claiming that the refinery is not yet ready for production as the general public have been made to believe. The supposed construction workers, claim that the public have been lied to by the Nigerian authority as work is still ongoing at the refinery days to it’s expected first production this July.
