Ikpeazu Trains Over 350 Youths, Women In Entrepreneurship, Doles Out N2.4 Million

Hon. Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu drew 400 youths and women from Onitsha North and South of Anambra State to be taught in business skills in order to become labor employers.

Following the training on how to create Bleach, Dettol, Izal, Liquid soap, Car wash, Shambo, Vasiline, Aftershave, and insecticide, the participants received certificates and N60,000 apiece from Hon. Ikpeazu to establish their own businesses.

The three-day training program, organized by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Empowerment in collaboration with the Industrial Arbitration Panel (IAP), was held at Sharon Hall Onitsha and Obeleagu Hall St. Mary’s Catholic Church Onitsha, respectively.

The Chief Registrar of IAP, Ibrahim Abdul-Hamid, represented by Allhassan B. Usman and Useni Shamsudeen Adamu, addressed the participants at their various training places and thanked them for the opportunity to gain vital skills for self-reliance. He praised Hon. Ikpeazu for bringing numerous empowerment programs to her district in order to alleviate poverty and provide jobs for the area’s teeming youths and women.

According to Abdul-Hamid, the capacity building was designed to improve the well-being of Onitsha North and South constituents, particularly adolescents and women. He also praised the participants’ energy and commitment during the training sessions and encouraged them to return to society to teach more people and create jobs. He believes that “technology is the key to development in the dwindling economy.” Acquiring skills is critical for young people seeking employment. Youths and women should be motivated and develop skills to help them survive in a jobless environment.”We applaud Hon. Ikpeazu for providing the participants with seed money to establish their own businesses. We urged you to use the funds wisely in order to create your firm and become self-sufficient, rather than relying on the government for job prospects.”
