Why I Attended Alex Otti’s Inauguration as Governor – Abia Speaker Chinedum Orji

The outgoing Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has revealed that he honoured the invitation of Governor Alex Otti as a mark of respect to him and to prove that there was no rancour between them.

Speaking during a media chat with journalists on Friday in Umuahia, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji said he discarded two invitations from two of his colleagues who are now Executive Governors of Delta and Ebonyi States to honour Governor Alex Otti who personally wrote to him.

“I honoured the Governor as a mark of respect, I had two invitations from my good friends in Delta and Ebonyi States, but I thought of what will be in the mind of our people when they see me in Delta or Ebonyi State while same thing is going on in my State”

“Governor Alex Otti personally wrote to me, as a pan Politcian, I have to honour his invitation”

“Even when he was hitting my party, the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) on that day, I have to accept it like that” he said.

The Speaker said the era of unnecessary political rancour are all over.
