NSYC at 50: We treat Daura Corps members to Presidential reception – Aisha Buhari

Aisha Buhari, Wife of the President has said the First Family always treats Corps members serving in Daura, Katsina State, to a presidential reception during Sallah festivities.

The First Lady said this in her address at the launch of the medical outreach under the NYSC health initiative for rural dwellers HIRD, in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Scheme held at Jahi Village, Abuja.

Aisha congratulated the DG and all staff of the Scheme and members of NYSC on its Golden Jubilee.

She noted that the Scheme has proved to be relevant in facilitating unity, integration and development of the country.

The first lady also called on the management of the Scheme as well as the Corps members not to relent in their efforts to promote unity by providing quality service delivery to the Nation irrespective of State or place of service.

Noting that the introduction of the HIRD programme has largely been successful, Mrs Buhari called on all well-meaning Nigerians and partners to support the activities of Corps members to help boost the economy.

“I would like to state with all sense of modesty, that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will be remembered as one, which placed a premium on youth development,” she added.

“Mr President is particularly passionate about the NYSC. His support for the Scheme is driven by his belief in one Nigeria and sincere appreciation of the contributions of these young men and women.

“To this effect, the First Family always treat Corps members serving in Daura, Katsina State, to a presidential reception during Sallah festivities.”
