Detailed Eyewitness Account of How Asari Was Killed in Rivers Cult War Over Oil Bunkering

The lingering cult clash in the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt purported to be a supremacy battle between the BS (Blood Star) and D12 cult group has claimed over six (6) lives.

 

An eyewitness who happen to be resident in the mile one axis of Diobu revealed that trouble started in the area when one Mr Ugochukwu Ukeagbu who happens to be a member of the BS Deygbam cult group returned from Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

“The Blood Star cult group is in charge of Ogu and popular Cocola-Waterfront while the D12 occupies the Elechi Beach axis all in Diobu Port Harcourt” the eyewitness revealed.

“On emerging the leader of the BS cult group, Mr Ugochukwu Ukeagbu instigated a supremacy war against other groups so he can control the oil businesses going on in all this waterfronts”

 

Revealing how the current cult rivalry erupted, the eyewitness confirmed that Ugochukwu, one Mr Alafaa Briggs and their BS group stormed the Elechi beach water front shooting sporadically killing two suspected members of the D12 group “they said they (BS cult group) were on a procession in honour of their late member, on getting to the Elechi beach, they were stopped by the D12 group and asked not to trespass seeing that they were armed, later that evening Ugo’s group reinforced and returned to Elechi Beach waterfront killing 2 suspected members of the D12 group” he said.

It was gathered that this attracted a reprisal from the D12 cult group with resulting to the death of over four (4) BS cult members.

 

Residents within the Elechi axis has also commended the Rivers state command of the Nigeria Police force for their swift response which helped in curtailing the crisis.

However they decried the incessant Illegal bunkery activities ongoing at the Ogu water front of Diobu axis. They also used the medium to call on the Local Government Authority and the state Government to put an end to this illegalities ongoing within the Ogu water front as this has been the genesis of all this supremacy clashes between rival cult groups (recall the Ogu water front was not demolished during the state Government shanties demolishing exercise that took place in the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt), this has made the waterfront a hideout for cultist and notorious criminals who use the waterfront as a launch pad for crime and other illicit activities.

 

Rumuors also had it that a suspected cultists popularly known as Asari was gunned down at Ekwe street, mile 3 axis of Diobu on Wednesday.

 

Reacting to the incident; Mr Victor Ihunwo the CSO of Nkpolu Oroworukwo community said the victim was attacked by suspected gunmen numbering up to 5.

 

Ihunwo also stated that immediately after the attack, suspected members of the victims cult group arrived in a Jetta saloon car and made away with the corpse of the decreased.

 

Meanwhile, closed sources reveal Mr. Ugochukwu Ukeagbu’s whereabouts is currently unknown as efforts are in top gear by the security agencies to arrest him and others involved and ensure they are brought to book.
