EPL: Man Utd keeping tabs on Martial’s replacement

Manchester United is keeping tabs on Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma as they plan to offload Anthony Martial this summer.

The Red Devils are monitoring Mitoma’s development at Brighton as manager Erik ten Hag plans for life after Martial at Old Trafford.

Mitoma made his debut for Brighton in August, having joined the Premier League club a year earlier from Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale for just £2.7million.

The 25-year-old has scored nine goals and provided six assists since Graham Potter’s departure from Brighton to Chelsea last year.

Ten Hag remains a fan of Martial, but his injury record this term has left Man United light up front, with the Frenchman making just 12 appearances this season.

The former Ajax coach has, therefore reluctantly decided to cash in on Martial and he will seek a traditional centre forward to replace him at the end of the season, according to the Sun.

And according to the Sun, Ten Hag and Man United are keeping a close eye on Mitoma’s development.

The report added that Man United would cash in on Martial and the likes of Anthony Elanga in a bid to raise funds to sign Mitoma
