Less than one week to the presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has directed all its members to ensure that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi does not win election in the state on Saturday.
According to information obtained from two local government party officials in the state, the party had, at a nocturnal meeting at Zoo Estate, Enugu warned all its members against working for Mr Obi.
Our reporter reliably gathered that one of the main speakers at the meeting, Dr Peter Mbah told party executive at the meeting that on no account will anybody work for anybody else other than PDP members, from House of Assembly to Representatives, Senate, Gubernatorial and of course, Presidential election.
One of our informants who preferred anonymity rood our reporter “the governorship candidate, Peter Mbah was the main person presiding at that meeting. He told us that Peter Obi should never win election in Enugu State. That we must deliver the five candidates running for election in our constituencies, he said it must be 5 over 5. He directed all party executives to move into all the local councils across the state and quietly mobilize for Atiku, himself, the Senate candidates, House of Reps and House of Assembly.
Mbah told us, “You must work against Peter Obi because he is not our party. Peter Obi is an Igbo man but we mustn’t let him win. He left PDP and is no more one of us. As such, he must lose in the coming election”.
According to the informant, huge tranches of money will be transferred to the various local government representatives, Party officials and members across the state down to the wards. As I talk to you, that money is being transferred. As you already know, no cash will be given to anyone. They are already transferring money for the presidential and national assembly elections”, he stated.
