A political analyst in Enugu State, Sam Uzor Ezenwa has said that the Peoples Democratic Party took the right step by suspending the former governor of Enugu State, Dr Chimaroke Nnamani.
Ezenwa in an interview, told our reporter that it will be the greatest disservice to the party if they had allowed the senator remain, as his anti – party activities were only geared towards a hope to win elections into the Senate, and move to APC, the political party of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he supports for president.
According to him, the PDP acted in a most prudent manner by suspending the senator, thereby robbing him of a chance to betray the party further.
His words “Dr Chimaroke Nnamani has openly declared support, and even campaigned for Tinubu for president. He has no regard for his party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and is campaigning for Tinubu in the hope that he will win the presidency. For him, running for Senate under the PDP ticket is going to be his last outing in the party. He plans to defect to APC once the elections are over. So, why would the PDP let him run with their ticket and then cross to another party? “, Ezenwa argued.
“PDP must not allow itself be used as a pawn by disloyal members. If the PDP is daft enough to lift the suspension, the party would have given him a platform to continue his political career in APC”.
