The Minister of Defence, Retired Major General Bashir Magashi, has tasked the service chiefs to sustain the joint training programme of all Short Service Courses and trainings across the three services to enhance operational efficiency in the fight against insecurity in the country, IgbereTV reports
He notes that this will also address the issue of inter-service rivalry that often exist among the three services and thereby hampering .
The Defence Minister gave the charge during the combined passing out parade of 337 cadets of Direct Short Service Course 26 and Regular Course 30 of the
the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) in Kaduna State.
Magashi, who was the reviewing Officer of the Parade, noted that the successes against insurgents and other enemies of the country being recorded by the Armed Forces could be attributed to the enhanced synergy among the three services.
He also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing good leadership that has repositioned the armed forces to better face contemporary and emerging security threats in the country, as well as thanks the Service Chiefs for intensifying the tempo of operations in the various theatres of operations which according to him resulted in significant operational gains witnessed in the country in recent times.
Addressing the newly commissioned officers made up of the Army and Air Force, the Defence Minister charged them to apply their knowledge and skills in various fields of specializations to support the combat forces in achieving their assigned missions.
