The governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia State, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has expressed his readiness to run an all-inclusive government that would stop the marginalization of the Ukwa bloc in the politics of the state.
Chief Kalu, who visited Ukwa West L.G.A. today for his ongoing ward-round tour, lamented the deplorable infrastructural condition of Ukwa as an oil-producing area, likening it to the starving of the goose that lays the golden eggs.
“The last time I visited Ukwa in July this year, I shed tears. We have crude oil in Ukwa West and palm oil in Ukwa East– two natural resources generating money for the state. “Ukwa should not be abandoned.”
“But there is hope, because my administration will give a special attention Ukwa as an oil-producing region, thereby ending the marginalization”, he stated.
Speaking further, the former Chief of Staff to the Abia State said his party, the APP, had already put motions in place to reintegrate Ukwa in the scheme of things by giving the Abia South senatorial ticket and the Deputy Governorship position to Ukwa sons.
Ipu South and West in Uzoaku and Owaza, respectively, are the two ABSIEC wards that the APP governorship candidate, along with his running mate, Prof. Osondu Akoma; Hon. Sylvanus Nwaji, candidate for Ukwa East/South Federal Constituency; Dr. I.K. Ajuzieogu, candidate for Ukwa West State Constituency; and other APP chieftains, visited today.
The highlight of today’s tour was the decoration of Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu with a chieftaincy title, Uzodimma I of Owaza, by the Ukwa West Traditional Council of Chiefs at the palace of HRH Eze Ambassador Love Nwaorgu.
