Ebonyi 2023: APGA Guber Candidate, Odoh Appoints Dr. Ude Eze As Support Groups Coordinator

A frontline Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for the 2023 Governorship election in Ebonyi State, Professor Benard Odoh has approved the appointment of Dr. Laz Ude Eze as the Global Cordinator, Odohzia Ebonyi Support Groups.

A letter of appointment dated 5th September 2022 notified that in this capacity, Dr. Eze will oversee all the activities of the various support groups and ensure that they are in line with the campaign objectives, the 2022 electoral Act and the 1999 Constitution as amended, in respect to the forthcoming campaigns for the 2023 gubernatorial elections.

 

Further terms of reference listed in the letter of appointment includes; “To identify, register and develop a database of all support groups supporting the APGA Governorship ticket in Ebonyi State, set up coordination structures of the Support groups at the LGA and the ward levels and also coordinate the activities of the support groups and ensure alignment with the campaign objectives”, respectively.

He’s also required to perform other strategic duties as may be assigned by the governorship candidate or deputy towards their anticipated electoral victory in 2023.

 

The man, Dr. Laz Ude Eze is one of Africa’s most influential health personalities. He is a public health physician, health management specialist, and sustainable development consultant. He’s the founder of one of Africa’s leading health communication organisations, TalkHealth9ja, as well as the MakeOurHospitalWork Campaign.

Dr. Laz is a strong promoter of good governance and electoral reforms, as demonstrated by his leadership roles and contributions towards the NotTooYoungToRun constitutional amendments in 2018 and the enactment of the 2022 Electoral Act.

He is the Convener of Oganihu Ebonyi and a Strategy Team Lead of the National Political Equity Movement (NPEM).
He was the National Vice Chairman South East of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) before its de-registration by INEC in February 2020. He was also the Convener of the Anyim4Nigeria Movement, a group that championed the presidential ambition of the former Senate President, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim. He’s an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and the University of Kentucky, USA, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and Master of Public Health degrees with numerous awards.
