Gombe state on Tuesday declared open its first peace and security summit, IgbereTV reports
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said the summit will provide an opportunity for security personnel, government officials and other strategic stakeholders to meet and discuss security issues, according to a statement signed by state government spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli.
The government also launched a special security task force – Operation Hattara – with the purpose of reinforcing security architecture in and around Gombe State.
The summit’s keynote speaker was the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.
