Residents in Lagos cry out after a drunk driver runs into a nursing mother and others, threatening victims with police, IgbereTV reports
This man in the video is known as *Agaba* from Abia State, and he is a retired sailor from Iba New site Ojo Lagos, Nigeria.
*Agaba* is a masccurade for violence. His wife died in a car accident involving many people but only taking her life a few years ago, and his son was suddenly wealthy from Yahoo Yahoo as claimed.
Since his wife’s death, *Agaba* and his sons have been driving recklessly down a street where small children run up and down.
Many people on *Agaba’s* street have fought him because of his reckless driving, simply because they told him to stop speeding on a street that is not a highway or an expressway.
I was personally a victim of *Agaba* son’s reckless driving a few years ago, when his convoy drove into dirty water in a pothole in the street and slashed water on our bodies, and they didn’t stop or act as if they did anything despite shouting from bystanders. We were about five boys walking down the street when this happened, and three of us were bathed in dirty water from his son’s reckless driving. They didn’t even wait to apologize.
With the anger and their father’s previous way of speeding down the street, we followed them to their house, where their father was shouting at us, calling us criminals, which I couldn’t take because his children were online fraudsters, but then the children who slashed water on us came out and apologized to us, begging the three guys with stained clothes, which they all saw and confirmed it was fresh dirty wate (10k). They even offered us a bottle of Magic Moment drink, which we accepted. We only went there to express our dissatisfaction with the way they drove and poured pure dirty water on us without showing any concern, as if they didn’t know.
After two days, *Agaba* went to the police station and made a false allegation that some criminals had forced their way into his house and taken money and drink from his children (Yahoo boys). Three of the boys among us were arrested by the police and later released after paying a total of $30,000 in bail. After that, people like me stayed away from anything related to *Agaba* and his family, but this is a family I’ve known since they were tenants in the Area (Iba New site). His late wife was a lovely woman of Christian faith (Roman Catholic), a school teacher who was well-liked in our community. People are still mourning the Woman and the manner in which she died.
The date is June 12th, 2022. I’m inside my house, not feeling well, when someone comes in and tells me that someone hit my wife and other people on our street and fled at high speed, not only hitting people but also shops and pavements. I came out and saw people gathered in the shop where my wife went to buy Pampers and was hit, so I went there and saw my wife and the shop where the man ran into and revised back and zoomed off without saying anything. I asked who the man was, and they said it was *Agaba*. I went to his house, and on my way there, I ran into him on the next street after mine, where he was surrounded by angry people, *Agaba* you again!! Do you intend to murder my wife? When *Agaba* began yelling at me, calling me names, and acting drunkenly, I summoned the community chairman and youth leader, who all arrived at the location where his car had come to a halt due to a street gate he couldn’t fly through.
He appears to be very drunk and insane, so I asked the chairman to call the cops right away because he will begin falsely accusing people with police threats tomorrow or the next day. The chairman said no. So I decided to make this video as proof because he never admits to being wrong and believes that anyone who tries to correct him is a criminal who is threatening his life. We live in a country where if you don’t have money or connections, you won’t be able to get justice.
I’m grateful that no lives were lost, but the Man *Agaba* needs to be cautious about his reckless driving, which people on the same street have known him for.
You can’t threaten people with reckless driving on a local street and then run to the cops to make false accusations against people who criticize your driving style.
