Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday stormed the residence of former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, in the Maitama area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to arrest him, IGBERETV reports.
Operatives of the anti-graft agency made the visit on a day Okorocha is supposed to be screened by his party as a Presidential aspirant for 2023 election. He therefore pleaded that he should be allowed to attend the screening exercise in order not to be disqualified from contesting in APC’s primary election coming up on Sunday.
EFCC stated that Okorocha refused to honour a long-standing invitation to their office. However, Okorocha said he never received any invitation or got court summons from any quarters .
