I Have No Son Grown Enough To Declare, Says Tinubu On Osinbajo’s Presidential Bid

National leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu on Monday reacted to the presidential ambition of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Tinubu, who is also running for president, met APC governors in Kebbi hours after Osinbajo declared his ambition.

Some of the governors in attendance were Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Mai Mala Binu of Yobe, Simon Lalong of Plateau, and Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa.

Asked by journalists after the meeting what he thought of his “political son” Osinbajo also running for president, Tinubu said, “I don’t have any son grown up enough to make such declaration.”

He added, “The fact that we have people in our party that express desire to lead the party into the highest office in the electoral contest shows how much this our party has resonated with Nigerians and our party members.”

The former governor and senator said his meeting with APC governors was to seek collaboration, support, and encouragement.

Some of the governors who were at the meeting also attended Osinbajo’s declaration on Sunday in Abuja.
