Peter Okoye, the Nigerian singer better known as Mr P, has claimed that some banks are aiding fraudulent activities carried out in his name.
In an Instagram post on Friday, the musician also alleged that some people are using his name to scam unsuspecting members of the public.
The 40-year-old, who backed his claims with some screenshots, wondered how banks would allow people to open an account bearing his exact name without a clear-cut means of identification.
Although he did not mention any bank, Peter threatened to take legal actions against such financial institutions.
The musician alleged that there is no way such acts would be carried out without “insiders” from the banks.
“Enough is enough!!! This is 2022. I will soon start calling some banks out! It’s either it’s an inside job or otherwise!” he wrote.
“I have a name to protect here and save some of these innocent victims! So get ready for me and my legal team!
“How can banks allow someone to open an account in the name of Peter Okoye Psquare without valid means of identification, no biometrics, no BVN, no verified address or even utility bill to correspond with the address of the account owner.
“Now they are using my name to scam innocent people! I am Suing these Banks for damages and calling them out soon! #Fraudalert.”
Peter and Paul Okoye, his twin brother, were recently in the news after they ended their five-year feud.
