Africa's Largest Gospel Music Fiesta, The Experience Holds Dec 3

Gospel artistes Sinach, Donnie McClurkin, Mercy Chinwo, Travis Greene, Chee, Nathaniel Bassey and others have spoken ahead of The Experience 2021 on Friday, December 3.

During a media briefing, the host Pastor Paul Adefarasin said the “eagles have gathered and the nest is ready” for what is arguably the biggest gathering of gospel singers in the world.

Speaking on the impact of the event, McClurkin said, “The Experience has literally transformed my view of music all over the world. I have seen multi-generations come together. Gospel music is really a lifestyle. It impacted in me a global sense of ministry that I’ve never had before.”

Travis Greene said, “I came in 2016 wide-eyed. I had no idea how God had used my music to reach people beyond my expectation. My expectation this evening is for God to be glorified. It’s good to be back home.”

Sinach said it was a delight to be part of it, adding that she was confident that the Holy Spirit would work wonders.

Chee said, “Singing the National Anthem now feels like a mantle. It’s a powerful moment for us as the church to dictate to the world how to worship God. It’s my 7th year and it’s a great opportunity and honor.”

On her part, Mercy Chinwo said, “Planning, praying, rehearsing is part of a lot that goes into preparing to minister here. I can’t wait to do so again.”

The all-night gospel music event is billed to begin at 7pm. It will also be live-streamed.

Others who will be performing are Don Moen, Dunsin Oyekan, Kike Mudiaga, Planetshakers, Tim Godfrey, Eben, Sidney Mchede, Ana Paula Valadao Bessa, Sheldon Bangera, William McDowell, Chevelle Franklyn, Chandler Moore and Nokwe the poet.

In a statement on November 26, Adefarasin said the event would hold at the Rock Cathedral in Lekki, Lagos due to Omicron concerns, previous editions were held at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).

Adefarasin said the event would boost the nation’s economy through tourism.
