Ahead of Peoples Democratic Party’s October 31st national elective convention, Senator Sam Anyanwu on Thursday emerged South East consensus candidate for National secretary.
IGBERE TV reports that Sen. Anyanwu was adopted as the consensus candidate following a South East Zonal meeting of the party held in Enugu State on Thursday .

The meeting was well attended by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, and other PDP Senators, House of Representatives members from the zone among others.
During the event, Senator Sam Anyanwu appreciated the South East leaders for adopting him as their sole candidate.
Sen. Anyanwu represented the Imo East constituency in Imo State in the 8th Assembly Senate of Nigeria.
Anyanwu received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Port Harcourt in 2001.
