Rapper Ruggedman, singer and actress Omawumi and a host of others have immediately taken to Instagram to mourn rapper Sound Sultan.
Born Olanrewaju Fasasi, Sound Sultan died at the age of 44 after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma, according to his family on Sunday.
Ruggedman, who belonged to Sound Sultan’s generation which thrilled music lovers in the late 90s and early 2000s, shared a picture of a burning candle on Instagram.
“Words escape me….Ha! This hurts badly,” he wrote.
Omawumi mourned the rapper and sent words of comfort to his family.
She wrote on Instagram, “Ahhh Uncle Sound! God comfort your family… Sun re o.”
With lots of weeping emojis, comedian Gbenga Adeyinka De 1st wrote on Instagram, “YOU LIVED A LIFE THAT TOUCHED OTHERS. YOU ARE ONE OF THE MOST DECENT AND DEDICATED MUSICIANS I’VE EVER HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO WORK WITH. LIVE ON BRO.”
Comedian Owen Gee posted on Instagram heartbreak emojis to mourn the music star.
Sound Sultan is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings.
