Synagogue Church Holds Funeral Service Ahead TB Joshua’s Internment

The Synagogue Church of All Nations has gone mid-way in its Friday funeral service to herald the internment of its founder Prophet T.B. Joshua.

The week-long ceremony has seen a series of activities beginning with a candlelight procession on Monday night which was temporarily halted by a fire incident.

A tribute service followed on Tuesday and Wednesday with an all-night praise session.

On Thursday, Joshua’s remains were taken to the church’s prayer mountain before being transported to the church to lie in state.

At the funeral service proper on Friday, Pastor Gerardo Montejano from Argentina said the opening prayer.

Bishop Trevor Williamson from The Bahamas gave “a word of exhortation” to the congregation.

American singer Shirley Murdock performed ‘Spirit Pray through Me,’ a composition by Joshua.

Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu took the first reading from 1 Corinthians 15: 51-57.

Bishop Steven Ogedengbe from Ondo State gave “a word of exhortation” while American recording artiste Byron Cage performed.

The second Bible reading from Revelation 21:1-7 was taken by Ayoub Kara from Israel.

Pastor Robert Acosta from Argentina also gave his “word of exhortation”.

As of press time, a preacher simply identified as Evangelist Joseph was giving “a word of exhortation” to the congregants.

Joshua died on June 5 after a church programme in Lagos.
