Atiku Meets Tinubu At Abuja Airport, Jokes About Jagaban On The Run

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and an All Progressives Congress’ national leader Bola Tinubu alias Jagaban met on Friday night at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Atiku had just returned to the country from Dubai, United Arab Emirates after a long absence from the country while Tinubu was trying to catch a flight to Lagos.

A video which has gone viral on social media shows the two politicians throwing banters during their meeting to the amazement of their aides.

“Asiwaju, where are you going this night. Dem dey drive you from town? Atiku asked.

Tinubu replied, “No o o! I am going back to Lagos.”

Atiku then said he just got into the country, prompting Tinubu to ask, “Why are you late?”

“Late, am I late coming? I left Dubai what time, this afternoon. It’s a seven-hour flight,” Atiku replied.

When asked when he would visit Lagos, Atiku said he would come when invited.

“Tomorrow (Saturday) I am going to Yola….I will come around sha (to Lagos) at least to greet some people who have been bereaved,” the former vice president added.

The two politicians then departed.

Following the controversy that ensued on social media over the meeting, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s media aide Jubril Gawat tweeted on Saturday, “So u expect two big Politicians to see themselves at the airport and start throwing punches or what ?? This Twitter sef.”

Atiku returned to Nigeria for a function in Yola, Adamawa State involving his son Adamu Abubakar who is the commissioner for works and energy in Adamawa, Leadership reports.
