A very disturbing report just reaching IgbereTV newsroom indicates that the Okigwe South Police Area Command headquarters in Orieagu, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State has been attacked by yet to be identified Gunmen.
An eyewitness told us that at least five policemen who put up a fight were gunned down with several others sustaining varying degrees of injury
The attackers stormed the police facility at about 7p.m. and opened fire. They released suspects in custody and Looted the armory.
Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the attack.
The spokesman said five officers have been killed, while one is yet to be found. Ikeokwu added that the building was not set on fire.
