Speak Africa International Centre For Human Development Empowers Abia Youths (Photos)

A non governmental organization registered to support good governance, growth and sustainability in Africa and reducing poverty and unemployment has brought smiles to the faces of youths in Nenu, Obingwa local government of the state.

The program which was held on Thursday saw many young men and women from the community go home with new motorcycles, bicycles, hairdryers, sowing machines and barbing clippers.

Declaring the ceremony open, the host, Mr Iheanyi Onwusibe welcomed the organisation for remembering the youths of Nenu at a time like this.

He prayed that God will continue to bless SAICENTRE for their kind gesture while urging the youths to make good use of the empowerment items in order to sustain their day to day activities.

Also speaking, Eze(Senator) Nguma Iroegbu, the traditional ruler of Nenu Autonomous Community rained praises on SAICENTRE for bringing such kind gestures which according to him has not been seen before in his community. He therefore urged the government, concerned individuals and the international community to always support humanitarian organisations to enable them do more.

Responding, the executive director, Speak Africa International and the chairman Board of Trustees, Speak Africa International Center For Human Development ( SAICENTRE) Mr Marc Chuks Bethel Nwadioha told the audience that his organization is saddled with the responsibility of empowering youths and women, reducing unemployment and poverty, providing campaigns against child labour, rape, human right abuses and gender inequality.

He said that over the last couple of years, SAICENTRE has visited over 200 secondary schools where young people are trained to speak out against the many injustices done in Africa and by Africa.

Speaking further, the Obingwa born philanthropist said that many young girls has been saved through his ‘ Speak To Save’ project which is currently in various states of the country.

While presenting the new brand motorcycles, bicycles, hairdryers, sowing machines and barbing clippers, the award winning author urged the youths of the community to shun every form of crime and violence which he said endangered theirs lives and their community. He adviced them to get engaged with different skills which will help them bring food on their tables.

Among the entourage were Comrade Donatus Onyeisi who is the vice chairman of SAICENTRE, Lady Uche Silas, Abia state coordinator of the NGO and Princess Isaac who is the state secretary.
