Cult Ban : Unknown Gunmen Shoot Two Alleged Cultists Dead in Awka (Photos)

A yet to be identified gunmen on Sunday killed two suspected Cultists in Awka, Anambra State, IGBERE TV has learnt.

IGBERE TV gathered that the suspected cultists were killed at a  Bar while having fun.

IGBERE TV recalls that the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, had banned
all forms of cult activities in “Biafra land”.

Speaking live on Radio Biafra on Thursday, Kanu said, “We are against all forms of criminality. From this night, all cult activities in Biafraland are BANNED.”

This order comes following several attacks on police stations in Abia, Imo, Anambra, and Ebonyi. According to reports, the states witnessed 11 gunmen attacks on police in three months.

Mr. Kanu’s order is believed to be a way to dispute the former Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, that the attacks were coordinated by the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Meanwhile, Friends, family and associates of Late Anthony Onwudinjo, one of the young men who was killed by suspected cultists in Awka, on Sunday, 18th April, 2021, have taken to social media to mourn his shocking death.

Chief Ikeobi Ejiofor, former Transition Chairman of Anaocha local government area, and a mentor to the deceased wrote a terse statement saying, “am finished”.

Chinasa Nkiru James wrote, “This is so heartbreaking. He helped our school out when we were preparing for Anaocha LGA Secondary Schools games two years ago. Such a nice gentleman. Oh Jesus! In front of his mom?”

David Okafor Diogo wrote, “It’s a very sad one. Nice guy at ifite those days. We played soccer and watched premier league together.
Go well brother…#SayNoToCultism”.

Augustine Chibuzor Onukwube wrote, “While I was contesting for President, Department of Religion and Human Relations, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2013, this young man Onwudinjo Anthony alongside other comrades rallied round to canvass for votes even when we were not in the same department.

He was a student of Philosophy Department, same faculty with myself and had little or no interest in politics. I was then a very popular figure in the faculty, with my rising political popularity, we became distant friends.

Last time I saw him, was the day he was celebrating his appointment as one of the numerous SAs of the present Governor Willie Obiano administration. I enquired of his portfolio, he laughed and held my arm firmly saying, “Presido, forget portfolio, make we position ourselves and take over the mantle of leadership anyhow e wan be”.

Today, the news of your death is a shock to me. To what end is cultism, if one can’t live a long and peaceful life? I am pained. This is sad!”.

Late Anthony Onwudinjo, before his death, was a fitness trainer, had a masters degree, and was also a ward councillor from Obeledu, Anaocha local government area of Anambra state. Social media reports said he was shot in front of his mother on Sunday, the day Catholics the world over celebrated Mothering Sunday.

Anambra state police command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed the incident to Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) and said the police have already made some arrests.
