No Old Women In Ghana — Yeni Kuti

Afrobeat dancer and TV personality Yeni Kuti has joked that there are no old women in Ghana as she flaunts her grey hair in pictures taken by partner Theo Lawson.

The 59-year-old grandmother uploaded the images to Instagram on Sunday, counting down to her 60th birthday on May 24.

“So I have decided to show my grey hair today,” began the caption of the post.

While admitting that she is getting along in age, she added: “Ko si arigbo no Ghana,” which is a Yoruba expression that there are no old women in Ghana.

Stretching it, she said: “Here is ko si arigbo L’Eko (no old women in Lagos).”

A retiree from active dancing, Yeni co-manages the Afrika Shrine with her younger brother Femi Kuti.

She also appears on Your View, a popular morning programme on TVC.

The daughter of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti has been in a long relationship with Mr Lawson, an architect and director of Freedom Park in Lagos.
