The Federal University of Technology, Owerri, yesterday, elected it’s 8th substantive Vice Chancellor.
IgbereTv gathered that she is Prof. (Mrs.) Nnenna Nnannaya Oti. Prof. Oti, currently the deputy Vice Chancellor (academics), will replace Prof. Francis Eze, the 7th substantive Vice Chancellor and from the Physics department of the School of Sciences.
The incoming Vice Chancellor is from the department of Soil Science and Technology, in the School of Agricultural Technology.
Prof. Oti has held several positions in the institution and one of the most significant is being the dean of the Post Graduate School (PGS) where she brought alot of innovations to bear.
Today, she is the first Female Vice Chancellor of the great citadel of learning and will assume office in June for a five year tenure.
