The immediate repercussions of the terror attack last Monday in Imo State has been revealed as the state police command has been relieved of its top brass.
IgbereTv gathered that the new Acting Inspector General of Police, Baba Usman Alkali, has relieved the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Haruna, of his Command. Others affected also include the deputy Commissioner of Police (operations) as well as the Assistant Commissioner of Police (operations).
At the time of filing this report, they have been summoned to the force headquarters at Abuja where they will be redeployed.
When this correspondent placed a call to the phone number of the state’s police public relations officer, Orlando Ikeokwu,SP, his number was switched off.
It is not yet official why the Commissioner of Police, who is barely a month on the job, was deployed but it can be assumed that it is not unconnected to the recent happenings in the state.
