The main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has begun to release fake election figures in the ongoing Saturday’s House of Representatives by-election for Aba North/Aba South federal constituency, Igbere TV reports.
While voting is yet to be concluded in all polling units and there has not been any official result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the PDP, through their media team and online aides, have said they are leading in all the polling units.
PDP media houses and their associates in the social media also released fake figures to mislead the public.
However, an investigation carried out by Igbere TV correspondent in Abia on Saturday shows that contrary to claims by the PDP, APC candidate Mascot Uzor Kalu is ahead in most of the units visited as most of the voter we interviewed indicated they voted for APC.
Voting commenced early enough in most of the units visited at Osusu Ward 4, Ariaria, and Gloucester.
A voter, Ikenna Nwosu, told our correspondent that APC was leading in all the units around his ward in Ariaria.
Speaking on early victory claims by the PDP, Nwosu said, “The dirty lies that this party (PDP) had told is just one example of the gross and irresponsible mendacities and falsehood that the agents and associates of the party habitually enjoy peddling.”
“We have always known they are a party of liars that are led and inspired by a small cabalistic cult of shameful deceivers, liars, and cheap propaganda merchants. In them, there is no truth, and lying is their second nature and natural habitat. They should not be taken seriously as they are already losing this election,” he added.
