Obioha, Ex-NADECO Chieftain, Arrested For 'Attempted Murder'

Police in Lagos have concluded plans to charge a chieftain of the defunct National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) Ralph Obioha with attempted murder and destruction of property of a former managing director of First African Trust Bank Yomi Tokosi.

Mr Obioha was summoned and detained by the police criminal investigations department in Lagos for allegedly attempting to murder Mr Tokosi his former business partner.

He has, however, been released on bail based on the recognition of his lawyer Olumide Akpata who is the chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The ex-NADECO chieftain will be arraigned by the Lagos director of public prosecution (DPP).

Obioha was implicated after one of his aides Ifeanyi Okereke was arrested following an attack on Tokosi’s residence in Lagos on November 29, 2020.

Others arrested were Olawale Dairo, John Sunday and Monday Olotu.

The suspects allegedly vanadalised Tokosi’s cars after failing to enter the building before the intervention of police officers.
