Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Prof. George Obiozor’s Election Free, Fair, Credible – Prof. Gregory Ibe

The Chancellor/Proprietor, Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe has debunked media publications that he rejected the outcome of the recently conducted Ohanaeze Ndigbo election, insisting that there was never a time he kicked against the electoral outcome which took place in Owerri, Imo State.

Describing the online publication as a poorly done hatchet media job, the educationist stated that it is the mischievous handiwork of some misguided people.

In a statement he personally endorsed and made available to IgbereTV on Tuesday, he insisted that the publication represents the figment of the hallucinatory imagination of the authors, urging the public to disregard such.

With the title, “OHANAEZE NDIGBO ELECTION IS CREDIBLE” Prof. Ibe said he never participated in any zoom meeting where the agreement was reached to reject the decision of collective Igbo sons and daughters to choose Prof. George Obiozor as their President General.

“My attention has been drawn to a poorly done hatchet media job captioned Ndigbo Reject Purported Ohanaeze Election, which was recently published online on some popular blogs. After perusing the content of the said publication, my initial reaction was to dismiss the article as the mischievous handiwork of some misguided people but considering the possible negative impact of the work on the reading public, I hereby make the following clarifications;

“1. That the said publication is completely false, baseless, and totally misleading and a figment of the hallucinatory imagination of it’s misguided authors.

“2. That I actively participated in the election that produced the current leadership of our cherished Ohanaeze Ndigbo under the helmsmanship of His Excellency Prof George Obiozor.

“3. That the electoral process which produced the current leadership was free, fair, transparent, and credible, as attested to by many notable Igbo sons and daughters, who through various congratulatory messages have added credence and impetus to the exercise, while invariably endorsing the new executive team.

“4. That I did not participate in any zoom meeting that rejected the outcome of the said election as insinuated by the inglorious publication.

“5. I, therefore, enjoin all right-thinking individuals to discountenance the purported rejection of the recent Ohanaeze Ndigbo election.”
