The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is investigating Cross River State Commissioner for Environment Mfon Bassey.
“One Mfon Bassey, Commissioner for Environment is being investigated by EFCC. He was with us yesterday (Thursday). And was with us this (Friday) morning. And we are questioning him on certain allegations levelled against him,” Uyo EFCC zonal head Edeh Uchenna said on Friday.
Mr Uchenna added that “though we are investigating him, he is not in our custody. He only reported to us when we invited him and he has been honouring our invitations.”
He, however, did not disclose the nature of the allegations levelled against Mr Bassey who was the former head of Calabar Transportation Agency.
