Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has tested positive for COVID-19, commissioner for health Prof Akin Abayomi has confirmed.
Prof Abayomi stated this in a series of tweets on Saturday evening.
Mr Sanwo-Olu, the commissioner said, is showing symptoms and fatigue typical of a mild case of COVID-19.
He added that the governor is receiving treatment and is being closely monitored at home by a clinical team from Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
“Mr Sanwo-Olu is doing well on treatment and rest and we are confident that he will recover quickly and clear the virus.”
Sanwo-Olu had on Friday gone into isolation after some of his aides tested positive to the coronavirus.
Abayomi himself tested positive for the virus in August.
