Sen. Egwu, Ayim, Others Are All My Children - Umahi

Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State has described former Governor of the State, Senator Sam O Egwu and other lawmakers as his children.

IGBERE TV reports that Senator Egwu who is 66 years old now after governing Ebonyi for eight years was in 2008 appointed Minister of Education, position he held till April 2010 when he was replaced by Professor Ruqayyah Ahmed Rufa’i.

 

Also in the children’s list of Governor Umahi is Senator Ayim Pius Ayim, who served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation during Goodluck Jonathan Presidency.

Governor Umahi, while declaring for APC, said that Ebonyi is presently 99.9 per cent APC as he left the remainder for the national assembly members among other non defectors.

Umahi said : “Do not castigate them because they are looking for something and will come back when they get it, they are my children and I love them very much as the father of the state.

“We also have 400 members of boards and commissions, 560 LGA management committee members, 130 LGA supervisors, the entire chairmen of the 13 LGAs, party chairmen in the councils areas, all the state legislators among others are in this movement.

He urged political stakeholders in the southeast zone to move en masse to the APC because it is time for the zone to move to the centre.
