EndSARS: I’m One Of Those Who Signed The Petition – Pastor Ashimolowo

Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London Matthew Ashimolowo says he was among those who signed a petition in the United Kingdom against the Federal Government over its handling of the #EndSARS protests.

“If they want to get me, let them get me, I am one of the people that signed the petition in London on #EndSARS protest and the Parliament will start hearing this week and if found guilty, Nigeria might be sanctioned,” Ashimolowo said during a recent appearance at his church in Maryland, Lagos.

Ashimolowo has been in Nigeria for some time. He recently hosted Bishop David Oyedepo and wife Faith Oyedepo.

“But the youth must arise and not expect things to be done. Do not chase after money, chase your purpose, everything will follow suit,” Ashimolowo continued.

On the effect of the coronavirus in Nigeria, Ashimolowo said: “Nigeria I hail o, coronavirus dey fear una, people dey catch am everywhere but una strong o.”

More than 200,000 people signed the petition started by Silas Ojo.

A member of the Conservative Party Theresa Villiers kicked off the debate at the Westminster Hall on Monday.

Some of the sanctions recommended on government officials and security agents include visa ban, freezing of assets, and stopping the funding and training for the Nigeria Police Force.
