Police in the FCT have confirmed the kidnap of a Catholic priest in Yangoji, Kwali Area Council.
The unnamed priest was kidnapped on Sunday.
Spokesperson for the police Mariam Yusuf in a statement on Monday urged residents of the territory to remain calm, assuring them that the priest would be rescued unharmed.
“The Commissioner of Police FCT, Bala Ciroma, has launched a manhunt to trail and apprehend the suspects,” the statement read.
“While urging residents to be security conscious and promptly report all suspicious movements, the command wishes to reiterate its unflinching commitment to the protection of lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory.”
