Over N87m Left As Feminist Coalition Announces End Of #EndSARS Donations

A group leading the push for #EndSARS protest against police brutality Feminist Coalition has announced the end of donations in support of the protest.

The group made up of journalist Kiki Mordi, Ozzy Etomi, Laila Johnson-Salami among others announced this in a statement dated October 22.

The coalition said it condemns “every form of violence”, adding that the rest of the donations would go to other use such as “funding medical emergencies, legal aid for wrongfully detained citizens, and relief for victims of police brutality and families of the deceased.”

The group’s statement followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s call to the youth in a nationwide broadcast on Thursday to end the protest and join the government at the negotiation table.

Feminist Coalition disclosed the total amount raised as over N147 million witth more than N60 million disbursed and about N87 million left.
