Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Nigeria Police Force were on Monday attacked by hoodlums along Herbert Macaulay Way in Yaba area of Lagos.
Several police vehicles were also vandalised in the process.
A footage from the incident has gone viral on social media.
It was gathered that the RRS operatives were heading to Lekki when they were attacked.
“They damaged four vehicles which they usually use in conveying the policemen for rotations. About 60 policemen were in the patrol vehicles when they were attacked by the hoodlums,” a source told PUNCH.
The incident is believed to be a fallout from the #EndSARS protest which has engulfed Lagos and several parts of the country.
