A boat conveying ad-hoc officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to the riverine Ilaje communities of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State has capsized.
The boat was also carrying some electoral materials.
Ondo police spokesman Tee-Leo Ikoro said it was “a minor accident” and that there were no casualties.
It was gathered that navy officials rescued all the victims and the election materials.
“It happened but it was a minor mishap because there was no casualty, and nothing happened to the election materials, everything is intact,” the police spokesman said.
