Veteran Yoruba Actor, Jimoh Aliu Is Dead

Igbere TV reports that Nollywood veteran Jimoh Aliu popularly known as Baba Aworo has passed on.

Actress Foluke Daramola-Salako also confirmed the news in an Instagram post.

“We have lost another veteran again o 😭😭😭😭Baba aworo is dead,” she wrote.

“We thank God that he was one of the old veterans we celebrated last year, but for covid we haven’t been able to do much this year, but we thank God when baba was alive we did our little quota, may God grant him eternal peace in Jesus name.”

The playwright and dramatist was born in November 1939 at Oke-Imesi, Ekiti State, Igbere TV reports.

He began acting in 1959 when the late Akin Ogungbe visited his hometown, the same year he joined the Akin Ogungbe theatre group where he gained some experience in drama.

Baba Aworo had a stint with the Nigerian Army between 1967 and 1975.

His television drama series include Iku Jare Eda Yanpan Yanrin and Fopomoyo that featured King Sunny Ade.
