JUST IN!!! Mailafia Released As Supporters Besiege DSS Office

A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Obadiah Mailafia has been released by the Department of State Services (DSS) after about four hours of interrogation.

Mailafia’s invitation on Monday to the DSS office in Jos, Plateau State capital was the third since he claimed on radio that a northern governor was the commander of Boko Haram.

Hundreds of his supporters flooded the DSS office to witness the questioning, chanting solidarity songs.

Mailafia arrived at the DSS office around 11 am together with his wife Margaret and his lawyer Yakubu Bawa among others including several clergymen. He was not released until around 2.55 pm.

The former presidential candidate told reporters outside the DSS office that he hoped this would be his last visit to the DSS.

“Thank you all for being here. Many have said the worst things and nobody invited them. I hope this will be the last time I will be invited to the DSS office. All that I am saying is that the killings must stop,” he said.
