Father Christian Anokwuru made the commendation yesterday, 4th September, 2020, while receiving financial donations made by Dr. Otti to offset the medical bills of some indigent patients who could ot take care of their medical Bill’s due to financial constraints.
He expressed gratitude that Dr. Otti could extend such heartwarming gesture at a time like this, especially when he merely ran into the patients accidentally during a visit to the hospital.
He recalled that Dr. Otti had massively identified with the Christian Hospital at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic by donating very useful protective gears that enabled the hospital take care of all patients without description, and explained that unlike what was done in many other hospitals where the fear of Covid-19 forced some hospitals to shut down, the Madonna Christian Hospital carried out full medical services at the peak of the pandemic, because it is a faith based Hospital that attaches importance to human life and humanitarian services.
The patients whose bill ran into several millions of naira, were 18 in number, with twelve males and six females.

He subsequently asked that the bills of the patients should be tidied up for prompt assistance, a pledge he redeemed yesterday to the joy and relief of the patients.
The Administrator of the hospital had while speaking, explained that the hospital had asked most of the patients who had fully recovered to go home shortly after Dr. Otti made the pledge, because they were convinced that Otti was going to redeem his pledge to the fullest.
Speaking shortly after the presentation, the Media Assistant to Dr. Alex Otti, Ferdinand Ekeoma disclosed that the gesture was purely a humanitarian assistance aimed at ameliorating the plight of the patients, and explained that the humanitarian intervention would have been carried out under the auspices of the Alex Otti foundation, but because the foundation had completed its set out projects for the year having carried out numerous philanthropic activities, especially the annual undergraduate scholarship program which was held in April this year.
