#RevolutionNow: Arrested Protesters Released In Lagos, Abuja

Lagos State Police Command has released all RevolutionNow protesters arrested on Wednesday.

Rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong confirmed the news to Sahara Reporters whose owner Omoyele Sowore is in the forefront of the protest.

The protesters had taken to the streets to kick against bad governance in Nigeria.

Mr Effiong said the police were forced to withdraw the “funny charges” brought against the arrested persons. “They have all been released and are on their way home,” he said.

More than 20 presenters were arrested in Lagos after teargas canisters were fired.

The protests were held simultaneously in others parts of the country.

In Abuja, Deji Adeyanju, one of the organisers of the protest confirmed that all the arrested protesters had been released.

It was not immediately clear if those arrested in other states had been released.
