Toke Makinwa Makes Move To Arrest Twitter User Over False Accusation

Media personality Toke Makinwa says the police are investigating the origin of rumours that a house alleged to be hers in Banana Island area of Lagos was seized by the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).

Taking to her Twitter page on Monday, the 35-year-old expressed her feelings over how she has become a target of false news over the years and how false news has taken over the media.

“The account that started the vicious rumour on here deleted the tweets but I have reported to the police and an investigation is going on as I type, things are going to get very interesting, perhaps you gather all your coins cos I will buy that house in banana island,” she wrote.

Born on November 3, 1984, Toke’s alleged Banana Island mansion was rumoured seized by AMCON due to her inability to pay up a loan.

One of her managers, however, told BBC Pidgin that the fashion entrepreneur lives in Ikoyi area of Lagos and has no house in Banana Island.
